Music event “Uns” Organised by students of Guru Nanak Dev University
Amritsar, April 26: A music event “Uns” was organised by the ‘Music Club and Student Activity Club’ of Guru Nanak Dev University at Dashmesh Auditorium. Several Student artists gave performances of Indian and Western Music in the Auditorium. The event was hosted by students themselves and the aim of the event was to celebrate the rich legacy of Indian art and culture by way of promoting young talented musicians.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu presided over the function. Prof. Shweta Shenoy, Head, MYAS-GNDU Department of Sports Sciences and Medicine of the University; Prof. S.S. Behl, Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Anoop Keswan, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Satnam Singh Deol and Sh. Parveen Kumar, Director PR and faculty members were also present on this occasion.
Two bands “One by Zero” and “The Rize Band” along with various singers from the campus could be seen performing at the musical event. Students gave the credit to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Sandhu for creating the environment for the recreation of the students, which can acts as stress buster.
Anchor Harpreet Singh student of M.Phil said , “Establishment of Student Activity clubs is very good effort of the University”. This event was the 1st event of the club organized by the members of the club. On this occasion, Sumit Dhillon along with Inderjit Singh made everyone dance to the tunes of popular Punjabi songs.
Programme which was planned for 1.5 hour went on for 2.5 hour. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor appreciated the students for such a wonderful musical evening and also got nostalgic & remebered his student days. He thanked the students for such a wonderful musical evening and said that he will always support them for such activities.
