Harsimrat Badal hails cabinet sub committee nod for doubling Rajpura – Bathinda rail line.
Bathinda, December 22 (Jaswant Dardpreet): Union Food Processing Minister Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal today hailed the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs for giving its assent for doubling of Rajpura-Bathinda Railway line to be built at the estimated cost of Rs. 1251.25 crore.
In a statement issued here Mrs. Badal said the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has given its approval for doubling of 172.64 kilometer Rajpura-Bathinda Railway line, which will give further boost to business and economic activities in the region. She said that the doubling of this track is expected to be completed in five years.
Mrs Badal said the NDA had given several prestigious projects to the border state as well as its Malwa region including the Central University as well as AIIMS institution. She said the doubling of rail track would prove a boon for the entire Malwa region as enhanced rail traffic would facilitate passengers as well as ensure better connectivity with other parts of India.
