GNDU 18 students from School of Punjabi Studies cleared UGC- NET and JRF
Amritsar August 7: As many as 18 students of School of Punjabi Studies of the Guru Nanak Dev University have passed the UGC- NET and JRF test. Out of these students Gurpreet Singh, Simranjit Singh, and Kardeep Kaur have also received Junior Research Fellowship.
Prof. Dr. Raminder Kaur, Department Head that the UGC-NET is a national level examination, which is essential as eligibility for teaching in Universities and colleges. Students who pass this exam with high merit, have been granted Junior Research Fellowship by UGC for Research (Ph.D.).
It may be mentioned that the Department of Punjabi language in the university calendar has been given priority in the original scheme of the University. For achieving this purpose the department is actively involved in the development. As a result, every year the students of the department cleared this prestigious test. This year as many as 18 students passed this which is a matter of pride.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Faculty of the Department also congratulated successful students and wish them bright future ahead.
