Connecticut Sikhs who are playing important role in promoting religious tolerance organized a dinner for US attorney Deirdre Daly in Orange
Connecticut,(USA)November 13 ( Raj Gogna)-Yesterday’s to thank her for all the work she has done to promote programs which increase awareness among first responders about various cultures and religions.
Obama administration started AMS program which educate first responders about Sikhs,Muslims and Arabs customs and religious articles of faith and also tell them who these faiths are independent from each other.
So far in Connecticut almost more than 1500 officers has been trained thru this programs.
Swaranjit Singh Khalsa who is approved presenter for Department Of Justice and FBI along with Amarjit Singh,Maninder Singh and Capt Raman singh gave award to Ms DEIRDRE DALY who has served as US Attorney District of Connecticut from 2013-2017 For her outstanding work in upholding the Department’s commitment to Civil Liberties,Diversity and Freedom on behalf of Sikh Community of Connecticut.
On this program Sarala V. Nagala Assistant U.S. Attorney, John Sereno from FBI and many other officials came to support Sikh Community.
US attorney office ensured that the Sikh awareness programs will continue with Newly President Trump Appointed US attorney John Durham as well.
Swaranjit Singh Khalsa raised the issue of 1984 Sikh Genocide and discussed in detail why Sikhs came to America and had to leave Punjab.
Khalsa also said “Minorities are on threat in India and US Govt. should raise this issue with Prime Minister Modi”.
Amarjit Singh thanked everyone for coming to the farewell dinner and discussed how we can increase awareness among people about hate crime issue.
Maninder Singh Arora and Capt. Raman also discussed current situation of Sikhs in Punjab.
We will continue to raise awareness about Sikhism and will try to introduce Sikhism in Connecticut School System- “Swaranjit Singh Khalsa”.
