Indian National Overseas Congress USA – Telangana Chapter organized a meet and greet event with Former PCC President and Ex Minister Shri. Ponnala Lakshmaiah on November 12th 2016. This event was attended by NRIs from Telangana based in New Jersey.
Shudh Parkash Singh, National Chairman of the Indian National Overseas Congress (I) USA and other senior leaders of Telangana chapter addressed the meeting. Shudh said “ unlike other politicians, Sonia Ji says what she really means and does what she says! The perfect proof is how much she fought to deliver on her promise to create the state of Telangana. “ Mr. Ponnala is the first leader who blessed the formation of the Telangana chapter of INOC USA when he was the TPCC President, Shudh further said in his speech.
Ponnala Lakshmaiahwhile blaming the Telangana government for pressurizing the media not to report any negative news in the state of Telangana, urged all the responsible NRIs to rely on social media to expose the ground reality and the problems faced by the people of the state.
Ravinder Thota conveyed a message that democracy is a continuous process and parties will switch between ruling and opposition, ruling TRS (Telangana RashtraSamithi) party should not be in the misconception that they will always be ruling the state forever. Telangana state is formed with the will of AICC President Smt. Sonia Gandhi. The state would not be a reality without her strong commitment to a separate state and all should consider Mrs. Gandhi as a savior of Telangana.
Sravanth Poreddy requested all the concerned citizens and NRIs to strive for the improvement of democratic values in the state. He desired to remove the current undemocratic government lead by TRS and form a congress lead government, restoring faith in democracy.
Krishna Chaitanya (KC) mentioned various drawbacks in the current administration such as mismanagement of state finances, cash crunch, Mallannasagar issue, inability of BJP and TRS to form separate high court and requested all the NRIs who attended the event to look beyond the lens of media and analyze the failures of the current administration.
There was an interactive Q&A session where multiple questions were answered by Shri Ponnala, related to Telangana formation and governance in the new state. Guests celebrated formation of INOC Telangana chapter and Children’s day during the event.
